1. Introduction

The RCN Library Management System ("LMS") is developed by BestWay Solution for Rathinaam College of Nursing. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data within the application.

            Key Point: The RCN LMS is a 100% offline application. All your data is stored locally on
            your institution's server and is never transmitted to external servers.
        

2. Data Collection

The LMS collects and stores the following data locally:

Member Information: Names, registration numbers, contact details, course information
Book Catalog: Titles, authors, ISBN numbers, accession numbers, locations
Circulation Records: Issue dates, return dates, due dates, transaction history
Fine Records: Calculated fines, payment status, waiver information
User Accounts: Usernames, encrypted passwords, roles, login history

3. Data Storage

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on the local server machine. The database is:

Stored entirely on your institution's hardware
Not accessible via the internet
Protected by your institution's network security
Backed up according to your institution's backup schedule

4. Data Sharing

We do not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. The only network communication is:

License Verification: One-time activation check (license key only)
Update Checks: Optional check for software updates (no user data transmitted)

5. Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

Password encryption using industry-standard hashing algorithms
Role-based access control (Admin/Librarian permissions)
Session management with automatic timeout
Backup and restore functionality for data protection

6. Data Retention

Your institution controls all data retention policies. Data remains on your server until you choose to delete it or restore from a backup.

Terms of Use

1. License Grant

BestWay Solution grants Rathinaam College of Nursing a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the RCN Library Management System for internal library operations.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the software to:

Manage library book catalog and inventory
Register and manage library members
Process book circulation (issue, return, renew)
Track and collect fines
Generate library reports
Create backups of library data

3. Restrictions

You may not:

Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the software
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
Use the software for any unlawful purpose

4. Support and Updates

BestWay Solution will provide:

Technical support via email for software issues
Bug fixes and security updates
Feature updates as agreed upon

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. BestWay Solution does not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

6. Limitation of Liability

BestWay Solution shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of this software.

7. Data Responsibility

Your institution is responsible for:

Regular backup of library data
Security of the server and network
Compliance with applicable data protection laws
Managing user access and permissions

8. Termination

This license remains in effect until terminated. BestWay Solution may terminate this license if you breach any terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software.

9. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu.
